Readymade spices are Indian cuisines star attraction. India is ‘The Land of Spices’. Indian condiments are popularly known for their flavor, texture and aroma in domestic as well as in the international markets. With such a rich legacy, Saansmart could only be proud to showcase the wide array of high quality organic readymade spices listed with it under reputed brands like Kaladhari organics and health fields.
readymade spices come from the bark, buds, fruit, roots, seeds or stems of various plants or trees. (An herb, often confused with a spice, is from the leafy parts of plants that do not have woody stems. They can be fresh or dried.)
Primarily used as food flavoring, they are also used to perfume cosmetics and incense. At various periods, many of these magical ingredients have been believed to have had medicinal value as well. Also, since they are expensive, rare, and exotic commodities, their conspicuous consumption has often been a symbol of wealth and social class.
It is often claimed that readymade spices came to be used either as food preservatives or to mask the taste of spoiled meat, especially in the Middle Ages. But this is not really true.
Spices are known to bring out the unique natural taste of cuisines and could be used to change the look of food to make it more attractive in color. However, when used in large quantities, readymade spices can also contribute a substantial amount of minerals and other micro nutrients, including iron, magnesium, calcium, and many others, to the diet.
Most readymade spices have antioxidant activity, cumin and fresh ginger reportedly faring best. It is believed that spices contribute to health as much as fruits and vegetables do, by having anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. In particular, cinnamon is known to lower blood sugar, turmeric to fight inflammation, ginger to relieve nausea, garlic to boost heart health and Cayenne to ease pain etal.
Other than this, readymade spices play an important role in the agricultural economy of the country. Over the years, the Indian spice community has evolved and matured as a technology-based, quality-conscious, customer-centric, market-driven industry. And Saansmart is proud to be contributing to it.
