Sri Ganesha

Lakshmi Ganesha is regarded as the twelfth among the 32 different forms of Ganesha. In this form, Lord Ganesha sits flanked by his consorts Siddhi and Riddhi on both of his thighs. Goddess Siddhi is responsible for the achievements and Goddess Riddhi is responsible for wisdom There?s beautiful folklore associated with Lakshmi Ganesha wherein once upon a time Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi were having a conversation in heaven and Goddess Lakshmi was praising herself and telling Lord Vishnu that she is the most worship-worthy in the world and by her grace, a person can get all the pleasures of this world. By sensing the self-praising by Goddess Lakshmi and to reduce her ego Lord Vishnu said that the ?joy of motherhood is the ultimate for women?. This disheartened Goddess Lakshmi and she went to her friend Goddess Parvati for help. She requested to Goddess Parvati for adopting any of her two sons. Maa Parvati agreed and gave Lord Ganesha to Goddess Lakshmi as her adopted son. 250 251 Goddess Lakshmi became very happy and said to Goddess Parvati, ?From today onwards I?m giving my all accomplishments, luxury and prosperity to my son Ganesha. Also, Riddhi and Siddhi Lord Brahma?s daughters are like my daughters and will be married soon to Ganesha for which I give my word to you. Whenever my worship will be performed, Lord Ganesha?s worship would be a must. Whosoever will not worship Shri Ganesha along with me, he cannot get Laxmi. As such at Deepawali Poojan or Laxmi Poojan, Ganesha Poojan is a must.
